What to expect
- The default first satellite. Works with a 5 W HT and a handheld yagi.
- Downlink is weak-ish; expect fades. Twist the antenna to fight polarization.
- Crowded on weekends. Exchange is callsign + grid square, nothing more.
- Downlink is on 70 cm: Doppler swings about ±10 kHz. Step 436.805 → 436.795 → 436.785 through the pass.
Gear: HT + Arrow/Elk yagi. Program 5 memories with the downlink in 5 kHz steps.
